Yesterday, I had an unpleasant experience that I couldn’t seem to stop dwelling on.
While using a public/community restroom with only one stall, apparently I took too long because someone kept banging on the door which I found to be extremely rude and inconsiderate.
At first, I was scrambling to pull my pants up and put my duty gear back on (I was working off-duty) in order to finish quickly but the asshole inside of me decided to take LONGER. “How RUDE some people are!” is what my ego was telling me but for the most part I usually take the high road and don’t engage in nonsense and create conflict unnecessarily.
However, after having a touch of food poisoning and being outside in 90-something degree heat all day I wasn’t feeling very tolerant. So, being a Sagittarius and a deputy sheriff, and having no problem being direct, as I opened the bathroom door I told the young lady (who had a rather snotty look on her face I might add) “You need to be more patient!” and she tells me, “Well, we all have to go to the bathroom!” and points to some other people who were waiting.
Now, I must point out that there is always a wait at this particular restroom and I had to wait myself before going. So, I just ignored her because clearly she was a self-centered individual who thought only of her own needs (that’s redundant isn’t it?) and it would be like arguing with a fence post but as she was walking away she says in a snarky tone of voice, “Have a blessed day…” Really?
The tired, hot, slightly ill, cranky me was thinking, “You created this situation but I’m unreasonable because I pointed out where you were rude. Hmmmm…..” So, of course, for the rest of the day, I was trying to talk myself out of annoyance and I began to wonder why I was allowing such a silly incident to linger and cause what Panache Desai refers to as “vibrational density”. Similarly, what Abraham-Hicks calls “momentum”.
So, this morning I listened to an Abraham-Hicks recording and Esther said something that really stuck with me.
She said, “Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing is worth not feeling good. Doesn’t matter what it is!”
This is so true….today I will be searching for the “best feeling” thought.
Later, I’ll examine what gets us as humans to these moments of what I call silly intolerance and how to avoid future episodes….
